Some time ago we published an article about our experiences with linen and we received some interesting feedback. (See Amazing Facts About Linen ).Among the positive responses there was one man that opposed the idea of linen possibly having "healing" properties. However, his opposition inspired others to make some informative comments that countered his comment. This same man later snail-mailed to me a copy of an email that he had sent to someone else. In it, he counseled them against me, and against "quacks in the new Age movement" and against thinking that "atomic frequency signature heals a person..."
I absolutely agree with this gentleman that we want to avoid all quackery. We also want to avoid all religious quacks. We especially want to avoid all fear-mongers who suggest that they alone are the bearers of truth. Paul the Apostle encountered such people and wrote of them in Galatians 4:17, saying, "They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them" (NAS). Or, "Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you [from us], so that you may be zealous for them" (NIV). Fear-mongers want you to chase after them, but in the end they will shut you out, so that they alone will be the only bearers of truth. Avoid such men. For those who do want to seek the truth, the problem is that it is as Messiah Yeshua said: The people of this world are often "wiser" than are the Children of Light (Luke 16:8). Worldly people often see elements of truth and latch onto them first; they often partially perceive a point before Believers do. (Perhaps they get it with some help from the Evil One.) The wicked often promote a portion of truth in order to aggrandize themselves through their particular error. It has been our experience that some even misuse the truth about the restoration of both the houses of Israel - in order to draw people to themselves. Nonetheless, wrong actions do not make truth any less true. We must therefore always seek out the truth, regardless of how portions of it may have been misused by misled and misguided people.
We should not approach the truth about linen, nor any other thing that the LORD tells us about, and think that using it, or performing any action alone will give us the final benefit we need. Honoring the truths of Torah will give some benefit to even the heathen, but in the end, all healing and benefit comes down to us from the Father of Lights. He alone is our final source for all things. He alone will judge the thoughts and intent of our heart. If we do things for the wrong reasons, He will ultimately call us to account. Moreover, if linen does have any healing properties, it is because our Creator put them there. If we mistakenly think that use of a particular item or performing a certain action will cure all of our ills, we are making an idol of it and that will surely lead to our ruin. The Book of Revelation warns that there will be people who wear linen, yet will know the woes of damnation (Rev 18:16).
It is in the sense of looking to the Father alone, and in knowing that the things He tells us to do will only result in our good, that I make mention of the possible healing/preserving properties of linen. I am simply suggesting that there may be more to YHVH's command about wearing linen than initially meets the eye (Exo 28:42; 39:27-28; Lev 6:10; 16:4; I Chr 15:27; Eze 44:18; Rev 19:8,14). Assuming this is so, it is my hope that Believers will be encouraged to consider wearing linen when it is possible for them to do so. With the above qualifications in mind, I want to share two other comments that we received that were especially interesting to me. The first one was from Julie Sagissor. She first wrote to me personally and I asked her to please re-post her info on the site. She then posted the following note:
I wrote Batya last week to offer some resources in which claims about frequency are backed up by hard science. I am always sad when I hear Yeshua's people dismiss certain topics as "witchcraft" simply because they do not understand them. I remember many years ago I was just certain that a chiropractor I knew was dabbling in the occult because he used the science of human electrical fields to help his patients get well. I knew nothing about the science he was using, but it didn't fit my dogmatic idea of what therapeutic medicine should look like - I was judgmental on a topic about which I was totally ignorant! I thank Yeshua that in His kind and gentle way He single-handedly delivered me from my deception and humbled me to understand that it is not honorable for me to draw conclusions based on assumptions and innuendos. If we don't know much about something, it is good for us to ask questions and figure out where we stand on an issue. Better to have all the facts in hand and then decide yay or nay. I love what Batya said: "do we simple people fully know the Father's truths in a matter?" Perhaps not yet, at this moment, but that doesn't mean He won't share in much greater detail the answers we are currently missing. (Proverbs 20:5) I love that about Him!
Dennis, thanks for adding to the discussion. I enjoyed what you shared about the electromagnetic spectrum, though not all frequencies which are not invisible are harmful. Infrared is actually quite therapeutic in removing poisons from the body.
Ted, I likewise appreciate your desire to see Yeshua's people protected from deception. That was also what motivated me to feel the way I did about the chiropractor above. It sounds like you might like to learn a little more about the actual science of frequencies, in order to understand that the concept of 'frequency' is not new age occultism, though the terms used in this science have been hijacked by occult mystics who fiddle with crystals and plan to ascend to their 'higher selves' when lucifer takes his throne. Pushing beyond the obvious fact that even occultists can take advantage of foundational Biblical truths then twist them until they bear little resemblance to their origin (Matthew 4:3 and 4:6 come to mind), here are a few tidbits from just one of the hard-science books I have read on the topic of frequencies.
Though Dr David Stewart wrote the book "The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple: God's Love Manifest in Molecules" about essential oils (the aromatic herbal oils that are extracted from a plant by steam distillation), his assertions hold true for all living plants and animals, including flax. Dr. Stewart writes "Electromagnetic frequencies are measured in units of cycles-per-second (cps) which are called Hertz. There are a variety of sources of vibrational frequencies within the molecules of essential oils. In fact, there is a whole spectrum of frequencies within every organic molecule and the larger, more complex it is, the greater the spectrum." (pp. 177) He explains, "Electrons are normally wedded to a particular atom and do not easily escape. They just keep spinning around and around the same nucleus." When atoms are bonded together in a certain way, "they become 'delocalized.' That is, they are no longer confined to the orbits of a single atom. They can now roam all over" the molecule. "Non-localized electrons are 'shared' with other atoms of the molecule. In their new-found freedom, they zip around the ring [molecule], visiting the various homes of the neighborhood at megahertz frequencies (millions of times per second). This is one of the sources of electromagnetic frequencies that has been measured in association with therapeutic-grade essential oils. The additional energy carried by the electrons dashing around the molecule (as compared to that they had when tied to a single atom) is called the resonance energy of the molecule. In this state the concept of particles (electrons, protons, and neutrons) composing matter no longer makes sense. Instead we have an energy - a waveform." (pp. 176-177) Brackets were added by me.
This is just a small sampling of the science behind electromagnetic frequencies, and there is nothing remotely occult about it. It's just simply the sheer scientific wonder of an awesome creation crafted by a Messiah significantly wiser than we are. These frequencies are measurable by sophisticated technology currently available today. Ted, did you know there are medical diagnostic devices on the market today that diagnose specific infections, heavy metal poisonings, and chemical poisonings, as well as surplus or deficiency of vitamins and minerals, based on frequency alone? Using electrodes which are placed on the body, these devices compare the frequencies which the electrodes pick up to a database of pre-recorded frequencies scientifically linked to specific infections, conditions, and maladies.
There are also medical devices on the market today which heal by creating measurable electromagnetic (EM) fields, with pre-set programs which emit EM fields in the range of frequencies scientifically calibrated to correspond with the known frequency ranges of specific tissues and organs, like the heart, the liver, the connective tissue, and such. (http://www.hippocampus-brt.com/v2/Foundational_B.html) This kind of technology is little-known here in the U.S. but is commonly used by champion athletes in Europe. (http://www.hippocampus-brt.com/v2/testimonies.html) If human-made devices can do such things, why on earth would we suppose that a plant fiber too awesome to have been created by humankind could not also do such things? It is a great big electromagnetic world out there, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. *****************
Since my initial letter, and because we had such a positive personal experience with linen, we also purchased sleepwear and sheets, plus we have had some interesting exchanges with my friends, Ellie Agee and her daughter, Carmel. Ellie and Carmel posted an informative video about the ladies linen undergarments that they make, and it is well worth watching. A link to their YouTube video follows their posting, which is found below. Carmel wrote:
Dear Batya,
Thank you for sharing this information and your experience with linen. We are constantly amazed at the testimonials and responses that we receive. Our Father is indeed the Provider of everything good in our lives and it is remarkable to see how His "restoration of all things" leads to life and life abundantly - as one would expect.
In fact, we are now making bed rolls for travelers so they can take the health benefits of their linen sheets with them when they are on the road. We know people are also considering them for comfort and health when camping and for "Go" bags. This last Sukkot we learned that you can stay comfortably warm in linen even when it is damp. Certainly that is not the case with polyester or cotton. Since none of us know what lies ahead, the bed rolls are a convenient transportable blessing.
Many Blessings to you, and to Angus, for your work and your servants' hearts. May the Holy One continue to give you strength and breath to proclaim His ways.

In closing, I hope you will consider the possible benefits of linen and check it out for yourself. If you do, know that the end-source of all healing and blessing comes from the Father. Linen is not our "source." The One Who made linen for our benefit is our Source.
Blessings to you and yours,
Batya |
